Although the notion of translation has played an important role throughout the history of analytic philosophy, the notion itself has not been explored sufficiently. The conference intends to address the following questions: What does it mean to translate something, in particular regarding different theories of meaning? What are the criteria for the correctness of a translation? Are conceptual clarifications translatable or are they confined to a language? What is the role of linguistic kinship? Is the translation of philosophical works special?
