The new journal "Global Humanities: Studies in Histories, Cultures,
and Societies" has the aim to bring together international scholars in
the field of humanities, in order to discuss problems of a global and
transnational world in an interdisciplinary and wide range. For its
initial volume, we are looking for contributors from all disciplines
of the humanities.

In the field of post-colonial studies and in regards to political
history, there has always been a correlation between the center and
the periphery. Those traceable elements and influences that affect
the center and the periphery also become evident when one takes a
more cultural perspective. For the first volume of the new,
forthcoming biannual and peer-reviewed journal, Global Humanities:
Studies in Histories, Cultures, and Societies, which will be
published by Neofelis Press (www.neofelis-verlag.de), we are looking
for articles that will directly discuss these correlations. There is
a wide range of topics that could be covered. We especially
appreciate contributions, which will deal with the non-European world
and the approaches are open for a global or more regional
perspective. We encourage scholars from all disciplines in the
humanities to send in proposals for contributions that could focus
on, but are not limited to:

- Historical approaches dealing with the correlation of the center
  and the periphery
- Interrelationships of the European and non-European world
- Economic correlations
- Cultural topics (e.g. assimilation, acculturation, peripheral
  protest, etc.)
- Revolutions and their influence
- Religious aspects with regard to the above-mentioned correlation

In order to better plan the first volume of this new journal, we
would like to ask you to send in an abstract (max. 300 words) and a
short CV for your proposed paper, which should both be sent to the
editor no later than February 28th, 2014. The final papers will
typically be 5.000-7.500 words in length and are due on May 31st,
2014. After they are received, they will subsequently be
peer-reviewed. We will inform all of our contributing authors about
their acceptance into the journal before August 31st, 2014 and the
articles will be published in Vol. 1 in January 2015.

We also welcome book reviews of recent publications if they relate to
the above-mentioned topics. The reviews should be approximately
500-750 words and should be submitted before August 31st, 2014.

Please send your preliminary abstract, your final drafts, or reviews
to:

Assistant Professor of Modern History
