Call for Applications Type: Postdoctoral Research Fellows on Global Justice Institution: Centre for Advanced Studies "Justitia Amplificata: Rethinking Justice – Applied and Global", Goethe University Frankfurt Location: Frankfurt/Main (Germany) Deadline: 15.9.2014 __________________________________________________ (a) 2 Postdoctoral Research Fellows (TVöD 13), Goethe University Frankfurt The Centre for Advanced Studies “Justitia Amplificata: Rethinking Justice – Applied and Global” seeks to appoint two Postdoctoral Research Fellows based at Goethe University of Frankfurt. The Centre is funded by the German Research Council (“DFG”) and directed by Prof. Dr. Rainer Forst and Prof. Dr. Stefan Gosepath. Both positions are available for 3 years (with a possible extension of one year) and are full time (40 hours per week). Salary will be based on the German public service pay-grade of TVöD 13 or the equivalent pay grade from labour agreements applicable to Goethe University Frankfurt. The Centre for Advanced Studies examines questions of justice with a special emphasis on global justice. The main duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate entail: management of the overall project, organisation of the Justitia Amplificata fellowship programme, lending support and assistance to visiting fellows, the organisation of events hosted by Justitia Amplificata as well as active participation in the areas of research covered by the Centre. Contribution to teaching is desired. The Postdoctoral Research Fellows will be given the opportunity to conduct independent research in the areas of political theory and/or political philosophy as well as to acquire further academic qualifications. We are looking for candidates who have completed their PhD in philosophy or political science on issues of political theory or philosophy and with a special emphasis on questions of justice. Excellent knowledge of English as well as the willingness to learn German within a year is essential. Experiences in teaching, research and university administration are expected. In addition we are looking for candidates who display a high degree of social, organisational and communicative skills. The successful candidate will be a permanent member of the board of directors and will as such help to lead and coordinate the work of the Centre.
