Call for Publications Theme: What does it need for philosophy to be intercultural? Publication: inter.culture.philosophy. Journal for Philosophy and its Cultural Context Date: No. 2 (2015) Deadline: 31.8.2015 __________________________________________________ One of the self-appointed tasks of an Intercultural Philosophy is to interpret self-conception not only from one's own perspective, but consider the perspective of others as well. It is necessary to look for both: similarities as well as differences in the philosophies of the world. Intercultural Philosophy does not consider philosophy as a sovereign territory with marked-out boundaries, but rather as an attitude that is available to anyone. To look for similarities and differences ensues in studying sources of foreign-languages and their translations. Theoretical investigations to methods and intradisciplinary models belong to our tasks as well. For this reason, the dimensions of Intercultural Philosophy reach from Theoretical to Practical Philosophy to illustrate the interaction of a person and the other. Following these assumptions, when is philosophy intercultural? Is there something specifically intercultural? If so, how is it designed? What is the worth of such a concept of philosophy as an academic discipline? In which way differs intercultural philosophy from the approaches of cross-cultural, transcultural or multicultural philosophy? What does language and translation matters for philosophy in the field of culture? What about philosophy as an attitude? We call for young scholars to apply for articles, which are no longer then 30.000 characters. The deadline will be the 31st of August 2015.
