Call for Publication Theme: Democracy, Identity and Citizenship in the Global South Publication: Edited Volume Deadline: 15.6.2015 __________________________________________________ This edited volume seeks to examine the ways in which democracies in the Global South must contend with political identities and substantive citizenship (citizen as capacity) in the twenty-first century. This volume seeks to address how social justice is pursued in developing democracies having to address patterns of power, oppression/exploitation and discrimination alongside embedded patterns of supremacy and privilege. The volume also seeks to look at the role of political participation in engineering radical democracy and economic democracy in the Global South. Critical theoretical perspectives are especially welcomed. Please send chapter proposal (abstract) of no more than 250 words and a CV to [email protected] by June 15, 2015 to be considered. You will be notified by June 30th of the outcome. Please state “Global South Democracy” in the subject line.
