Distinguished Speakers:

Dr. Claire Finkelstein is the Algernon Biddle Professor of Law and
Professor of Philosophy at the University of Pennsylvania, where she
also directs the Center for Ethics and the Rule of Law. Her recent
works include 'Targeted Killing: Law and Morality in an Asymmetrical
World' and 'Cyber War: Law and Ethics for Virtual Conflicts'.

Dr. Mark Juergensmeyer is the Director of the Orfalea Center for
Global and International Studies, Professor of Sociology, and
Affiliate Professor of Religious Studies at the University of
California, Santa Barbara. His publications include 'Global
Rebellion: Religious Challenges to the Secular State', 'From Christian
Militias to al Qaeda' and 'Terror in the Mind of God: The Global Rise
of Religious Violence'.

Dr. Frances Kamm is the Littauer Professor of Philosophy and Public
Policy in the Kennedy School of Government, as well as Professor of
Philosophy in the Faculty of Arts & Sciences. Her recent books
include 'Intricate Ethics: Rights, Responsibilities', and 'Permissible
Harm and Ethics for Enemies: Terror, Torture, & War'.

Dr. Dominic Tierney is associate professor of political science at
Swarthmore College, a senior fellow at the Foreign Policy Research
Institute, and a contributing writer for the The Atlantic. His
recent books include 'How We Fight: Crusades, Quagmires', and the
'American Way of War', and 'The Right Way to Lose a War: America in an
Age of Unwinnable Conflicts'.

Faculty and students from Villanova University and West Point will
also present at this conference.
