Call for Papers Theme: Human Rights Subtitle: Founding Myths and Historical Perspectives Type: International Conference Institution: School of Law, University of Lisbon Location: Lisbon (Portugal) Date: 24.–25.11.2016 Deadline: 10.7.2016 __________________________________________________ (Versão portuguesa abaixo) This International Conference is intended to encourage the discussion of ideas at the Legal Theory and History, Research Centre of the University of Lisbon, associating the latest studies on Human Rights to the Legal Theory and History through a complete, plural and multi-faceted approach. The general thematic framework of discussion includes the History of Political Ideas, Legal History and Legal Theory, regarding timeless general and operative concepts, with an emphasis on modern and comtemporary historical periods. Objectives - Promote the scientific research in the areas of Legal Theory and History and History of Political Ideas; - Encourage the debate of ideas among prestigious researchers and academics and also early career researchers; - Develop competencies regarding the critical evaluation, presentation and disclosure of scientific output; - Strengthen contacts between members of the national and international scientific communities. Conference The conference presentations should be followed, at the end of each thematic section, by debate. The proposals for conference presentations should be sent to the Organizing Committee by July 10, 2016. The Committee will notify the authors of paper acceptance or non-acceptance by July 20. Authors should register until 10 days after receiving the notification of acceptance and the final articles should be submitted by September 20. Articles submitted to the Conference should be presented in digital format and include an abstract – up to one page in length –, and text – up to 20 pages –, written in 12 pt Times New Roman, 1,5 pt line spacing. O quadro geral de incidência é o da História das Ideias Políticas, da História do Direito e da Teoria do Direito, com relação a conceitos gerais e operativos intemporais, numa viagem plurissecular, mas com especial ênfase nos períodos Moderno e Contemporâneo. Objetivos - Promoção da investigação científica no domínio da Teoria e História do Direito e da História das Ideias Políticas; - Proporcionar o debate de ideias entre investigadores e académicos conceituados e investigadores em início de carreira; - Desenvolver competências em termos de avaliação crítica de trabalhos científicos, de apresentação de trabalhos de investigação e de divulgação da atividade científica dos intervenientes; - Aprofundar os contactos entre membros da comunidade científica nacional e estrangeira. Conferência A Conferência contará com a apresentação de artigos e espaço para debates no final de cada bloco temático. Os resumos devem ser presentes à Comissão Organizadora até 10 de Julho, que notificará os autores da aceitação dos mesmos até 20 de Julho e a inscrição dos autores deve ser feita até 10 dias após a receção da notificação de aceitação. A aceitação de artigos finais decorrerá até 20 de Setembro. Todos os artigos a submeter deverão apresentar-se em formato digital e constarão de um resumo – uma folha –, número máximo de páginas de texto – vinte (20) –, com letra tipo Times News Roman a espaço e meio.
