Conference Announcement Theme: The Human Right to a Dignified Existence in an International Context Type: International Conference Institution: Human Rights Centre, University of Potsdam Location: Potsdam (Germany) Date: 20.–21.10.2017 __________________________________________________ We cordially invite you to our conference “The Human Right to a Dignified Existence in an International Context”. The conference takes place from 20 to 21 October 2017 at the Human Rights Centre of the University of Potsdam and is going to be held in English. To realize the right to an existence worthy of human dignity, many other human rights already must be in place. But what are these rights? And what are the most important dependencies or interdependencies between the realization of those rights and dignified existence? Also, there is no aspect of life and no social sphere that might not at least potentially prevent the realization of the human right to a dignified existence. But what agents exactly can directly violate this right and have a responsibility to uphold it (states, international corporations, human individuals, etc.)? And what kind of responsibilities and duties are these and how far-reaching are they? To register for the conference, please contact: [email protected] The conference fee is 20€ (10€ for students).
