Call for Papers Theme: Global Crossroads Subtitle: Rethinking Dominant Order(s) in our Contested World Type: DEN Conference 2019 Institution: Democratic Education Network (DEN) University of Westminster Location: London (United Kingdom) Date: 10.–11.5.2019 Deadline: 18.4.2019 __________________________________________________ The world is at a crossroads. Over the last few years, we have witnessed numerous political events which have shattered the comfortable understandings we have about global order. These have ranged from the rise in right-wing populism, evident in the rise of Trump, to social movements such as Me Too and Times Up demanding a more equal model of social engagement. From the left to the right of the political spectrum, we have seen people questioning the very basis of the established social order. Questioning dominant narratives of sovereignty and democracy, calling out and dismantling existing power structures, and creating new narratives which speak to marginalised voices. This two-day conference aims to highlight, question, and discuss the dynamic and disruptive change that is happening around us. Venue: University of Westminster 309 Regent Street, London W1B 2HW The deadline to submit an abstract: Thursday 18th April Please contact: [email protected] Conference website: http://www.denwestminster.net/site/den-conference-2019-global-crossroads-rethinking-dominant-orders-in-our-contested-world/ __________________________________________________ InterPhil List Administration: https://interphil.polylog.org InterPhil List Archive: https://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ __________________________________________________
