The international seminar aims to take the philosophy and methodology
implicit in Gandhi’s Satyagraha campaigns in South Africa and India
and examine the social movements and philosophical discourses in the
21st century.

The focus of the discourse would be new and fundamental questions
regarding global transformation with an emphasis on marginalised
groups as well as environmental issues such as:

- Revisiting Gandhi’s Satyagraha experiences in South Africa and
  India in the light of new researches
- Gandhi’s concept and practice of truth
- Satyagraha in the global arena
- Lessons from Social Movements in Independent India for the theory
  and practice of Satyagraha

Submission of abstracts in 250 words: 25 June 2019
Announcement of selected presentations: 5 July 2019
Submission of draft papers in 5000 to 6000 words: 1 September 2019
