Call for Publications Theme: Malcolm X Publication: Essay Collection Deadline: 15.10.2019 __________________________________________________ I am editing a forthcoming collection of essays on Malcolm X and wondered if you might have a previously unpublished piece I could consider including. The book will be published as part of Salem Press’s ever-growing Critical Insights series: https://www.salempress.com/Search?q=critical+insights&culture=en-US Salem is owned by EBSCO, one of the largest “information companies” in the world, which operates numerous databases. The book will be issued both in print and electronically; in fact, any library that purchases the book receives free access to the digital version. I have had very good success in attracting major contributors to these volumes. David Reynolds, for instance, contributed to the recent volume on Walt Whitman, and practically every living translator of the Odyssey has contributed to a new book on that poem. Previous contributors have included MacArthur Fellows, winners of the National Book Award, and winners of other prestigious prizes. Each volume, especially recent ones, has featured key scholars dealing with the subject at hand. Essays should be roughly 5000 words long and should also be clearly written and accessible to non-specialists. Each contributor will be paid $250 and will receive a free copy of the book. I hope you may be able to contribute. I will be glad to answer any questions you may have. I would need the essays by mid-October. Editor: Bob Evans, [email protected] Contact: Robert C.
