Call for Publications Theme: Borderland Publication: Espacio Fronterizo - Espace Frontière - Borderland Deadline: Ongoing __________________________________________________ We would like to invite contributions (1500 words) to Espacio Fronterizo - Espace-frontière - Borderland, a new trilingual, cross-disciplinary, open-access digital journal, inclusive of voices of academics, artists, activists, and all contributors of written or visual work whose main drive is territorial inquisitiveness and exploration. As with land borders, we understand abstract limits as human creations which establish distinctions in spaces that are difficult to categorise. Borderland invites works whose vision, reflection, and expression about what we see, read, listen to, and live is expressed in a free and insubordinate way that flouts those limits. We welcome pieces indifferent to or defiant of disciplinary or generic categorisations, or that speak to any realms of the in-between. Our current artworks and essays all feature the powerful, vulnerable human experiences of borders in social, psychological, spatial, political, linguistic, artistic, and other dimensions whose limits expand with every contribution. We are interested in writings from different practices and interests. This is not an academic journal, though we welcome writers trained in academic inquiry. Borderland accepts submissions on a rolling basis, with a three-week turnaround of the editors’ initial reading. Please see the Editorial Guidelines for further information. For writers, we accept short pieces, poetry or prose, of no more than 1500 words, in Spanish, French, or English. Accepted formats are MS Word for text, and JPG or PNG (minimum resolution: 72 pixels/inch; minimum width: 1000 pixels) for images. All images must come with credits and authorisation for publishing by their authors.
