We are excited to be putting together a volume that privileges the
voices of indigenous peoples, nations, and groups using practices of
traditional conflict resolution that resonate with conventional
restorative justice and therapeutic jurisprudence. This is a peer
reviewed publication.

The intent of this book is to "mind the gap" in which differences
create challenges or obstacles to either RJ, TJ, or both, and
recommend approaches that would move that gap to a place of
transformation that is not merely illusory, or "the Nirvana story"
described by Dr. Kathleen Daley. We want to reveal and begin to close
the gaps created by "over-extended borrowing" a term attributable to
Professor Carole Goldberg.

Interestingly, most of our contributions at this time are from
Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. For balance, we are now
especially interested in Proposals about indigenous "restorative" and
"therapeutic" practices in present-day North, Central, and South
America, as well as East Asia, and all regions of Europe.

What do you need to be able to write up your Proposal and Full
Chapter to be accepted? - A precise description of the traditional
practice that you will discuss, and be able to identify what features
of that practice are historically traditional, and what features
might have changed to accommodate the dominant legal system or
culture where the group is located.

Of course, all idiosyncratic cultural, metaphysical, defining, and
multiple features that are normative would be part of your paper. You
would be able to include challenges that have arisen, solutions that
might have been constructed, and even your own recommendations about
future next steps or best practices. The possibilities for creativity
are endless.

Ideally we prefer full chapters be submitted by April 11, 2022.
However, contact me (Dr. Marta), and if your proposal is a fine fit,
we are flexible enough to work until early May to be able to get your
work to our peer reviewers. If this volume sounds interesting to your
thinking, give it a go.
