Call for Papers Theme: Sovereignty, Autonomy, and Multinational Federalism Type: International Colloquium Institution: Université de Montréal Location: Montreal, QC (Canada) Date: 18.–20.9.2022 Deadline: 15.7.2022 __________________________________________________ We are organizing a colloquium entitled "Sovereignty, Autonomy, and Multinational Federalism" on September 18-20, 2022 at the Université de Montréal. The colloquium goal is to reflect on the concepts of sovereignty, autonomy, and federalism in the context of multinational spaces such as Canada. The conference will bring together several researchers of internal reputation who have worked on this issue, such as Margaret Moore, Helder De Schutter, Alan Patten, Melissa Williams, Yann Allard-Tremblay and several others. The colloquium first day, September 18, will be devoted to Ph. D. students presenting their works on these issues in political philosophy. We invite Ph.D. students wishing to participate in this event to submit their presentation proposal in the form of a 250-300 word abstract with a title and a short bibliography (1-page maximum). The proposal can be on any of the themes associated with the event and can be either in French or English: - Autonomy - Sovereignty - Territorial rights - Multinational federalism - Legal pluralism - Minority rights - Decolonization The deadline to submit the proposals is July 15, 2022. Participants whose proposals are selected will receive a response by early August. Proposals should be sent to the following address: [email protected] Depending on the funding received for the event, it will also be possible for students to receive assistance for travel and accommodation.
