Hi Marcus, though I am not a support person I will try to answer your questions.

Could you give us a few more details on the version you use ? I.e. which build on which OS, are you working on your local machine or do you use a second machine hosting the Cache server ? The latest version available is 3.1.2 (downloadable from our site) . > > After some first tries with Cache 3.1 I installed 3.1b to make the Obj > Architect work. I would like to know I can't find a RCVDMN routine on my 3.1 installation, maybe it was part of an older installation ? There is a RECEIVE routine that gets started when you use the networking facilities in your system configuration (ie DCP). But as long as you do not use these facilities (like on a single user system) they should not be active. Another issue might be a process called 'RCVRYDMN' which is the recovery demon that might be invoked automically during startup or whenever a RECOVER process is needed to reestablish database integrity, maybe after a crash or during a recovery of journal files. > > -> What it's for > and -> How I can restart it. There is no documented way to restart networking facilities on that level, your networking should be OK once you start the Cache server, if there are problems with it you will find error/alert messages in cachesys/mgr/cconsole.log ( a text file) which can be seen thru the ControlPanel.Log.Messages as well. > > Without the Receive Daemon i can't make any connection through the GUI > (To Object Architect,..) Maybe there is something wrong with your configuration, you might send us/me your active .cpf file( should be cachesys/cache.cpf ) where all your config information gets stored as well as the cconsole.log in demand.
