Hi, Does anyone know if there is a timeout property that can be set when using the Cach� Factory object to connect to a server from a Windows client. In the older vism activex control there was a timeout setting that could be used. Or is there any heartbeat type functionality that anyone has used elsewhere to check if a connection is still alive?
Also, I am using the factory.isconnected() method to test if a connection is alive, but this just appears to turns true all the time...even if I kill the process on the server or disconnect the network connection. I can get around the problem by issuing a new connect statement each time I want to do something but this has overheads and seems uncessary if I am already connected. regards, Terry Byrne,
