A line feed and a space. Your printer is probably configured to
interpret a single line feed as a carriage return / line feed pair (or
you would have seen the "staircase effect").

Carriage return and line feed. This is the Windows line ending
convention. Cach� just follows the convention of whatever platform it
is installed on. I see no reason whatsoever why this would push
anything to the right. The carriage return is probably redundant, but
should do no harm. Are you sure this is the only difference?

If it is, I'd probably research the printer documentation to see if
there are clues there.
