This, as near as I can tell, doesn't do anything - or if it does, I haven't a clue where. Clearly, it's writing the data from %request, but to where? That is, where can I view this?
If memory serves me right it is writing to the currently opened routine within Studio; that is the purpose of Studio generate templates.
Can somebody point me in the right direction? All I really want to do is call some objectscript code and pass it the current project/routine name.
In this case you'll want to take a look at

and read the bit about "add-in templates" (the third bullet). I am afraid the example you're using refers to a text template.
