One interesting matter !!!
Somebody, someGuru could post to M/Gateway some tunning tips. Parameters that we can set to tune performance on Cache Databases. I used to do that on Oracle and Informix on Sun. ;-)
- 8k vs. 2k Databases - Shared Memory Configuration - Global Buffers - Indexes When to use Normal, Bitmap, (Bitslice, etc...) - Database Fragmentation - How to defrag a DB - How to tune tables
Many Others.
If you want I can consolidate all the posts and upload them to M/Gateway.

Where to tune this

Hi y'all
Just wondered if any of you have any "tips or tricks" on Cache configuration which you would like to share with a humble, bumbling Cache amateur such as myself.
I'm really looking at the "best things to set values to in Configuration Manager" type things but frankly all advice will gratefully be received
As an example:
From porting across an MSM system, we are creating around 50 or so databases (glutton for punishment eh!). For disk efficiency sakes, it is better to create the databases the right size to start off with (+ growth) as opposed to taking the default and then sucking the data in which may potentially create fragmented database files across the disks.
TIA
