Bluto,
It seems a litle confuse to me your details, but let's go...
First of all we need some more information, i.e.
1) Cache Version
2) OS (Solaris, verion - Linux, version, etc)

When you install cache it installs the applications also.
You said you have a pc running windows where you installed also Cache.
You don't need to ftp nothing to the server.
In the CUBE just Add access to remote server, and configure Name/IP of your Sun box.
Make shure that cache is running (don't have to tell, but check with "ps -ef").
You can try to access Cache terminal from a telnet or ssh session to the sun box. At command prompt just type "csession CACHE" - CACHE is the default unless you installed Cache with a diferent instance name.

You can then define a new database using the cube (on windows)/ access to remote server/Your server Name/Configuration Manager

Then the same for Studio.

Write a simple CSP page and try.

This can all be done using the internal web server that comes with Cache on port 1972 by default.

You can access your new page typing at URL - http://your.server.ip:1972/csp/<NameSpace>/YourPage.csp

Have fun.
For further help versions are very important.

Regards

Nuno

PS: I can be wrong but I think you are loading data in your local machine !!!

Greetings,

We just began to use Cache and are most interested in getting a simple CSP application running. We have followed the CSP install documentation as closely as possible but seem unable to connect the Cache db to a web page.

CSPnsd is running and CSP.log and CSP.ini are present. We recompiled Apache and an httpd -l shows mod_csp there. We modified httpd.conf per the guidance in the documentation.

I suspect something simple. The db was created in USER namespace. Are there some specific changes needed in the CSP.ini file or som adjustments needed in the CSP tab of the Configuration Manager?

Any pointers to additional documentation would be appreciated. Cache is running on a small Sun box (280R) and was installed in /opt/cache. Apache is on the same box and is in /usr/local/apache. Adding the mod_csp seemed to work fine. Apache recompiled cleanly with the module present.

We have a Win2K box to use for web development and Cache administration. It also has Dreamweaver installed.

We followed the web tutorial for the Cinema app. The files were ftped from the Win2k box to the Sun and do appear properly through Apache. However when any data is entered, it disappears. It appears to never make it to the db. An SQL SELECT * just retutns the schema, no data.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

In spite of the challenges, we are excited to begin to use Cache.

  Scott Johnson
