Human trafficking takes a new route, Indonesia and Singapore new take off
points

New Delhi: Human trafficking in India seems to have taken a new route.
'Kabootarbaz'—a term used for people operating the racket—keep looking for new
ways to send their clients to foreign countries. If authorities bust one
modus-operandi, Kabootarbaz come up with another ways to remain in business.

Authorities at Indira Gandhi International Airport have adopted strict measures
to check illegal migration and human trafficking. These days it is very
difficult to pass the immigration counter on forged documents. But, what has
now come to light has shocked the authorities.

Human trafficking continues--only the method has changed. Trafficker, first
issue tourist visa to the people and then take them to Indonesia. Once out of
India their job becomes rather easy. They manage to send people to different
locations via Singapore route.

This was revealed to the authorities when Sukhvinder Singh, a resident of
Jalandhar, got deported to India from Singapore. He was trying to reach
Barcelona but his journey was cut short at Singapore airport.

In another case, Ram Lal managed to reach Germany via Singapore but got
arrested when he came back to India.

Police believes that this is just the tip of the iceberg as people indulging in
human trafficking never run short of ways which are yet to catch the eye of the
authorities.
