A very normal scenario these days.... anyways.............
Find the reply as under:
1. The scrips/MF in which you are in profit/breakeven; try to exit by
mid of
September. If you can book very small % loss that would be very very
fine
also.
2. Take out the money and put it into FMP/FDR (First check their exit
conditions).
3. Hard cash can also be invested in FDR/FMP.
4. Now invest only in debt fund/FDR/FMP for 6 months.
5. If interested you can invested in GOLD through GOLDBEES (Not urgent
cash
required you in some time).

Subject: <<Aiii>> Can a novice get some advise

Dear Members,
I am looking for some advise on my stocks. Firstly, I am a relative
beginner and have been investing since only the last 2 years. Most of
my holdings were bought last year as the markets went up ( till jan
this year). My total investments including MFs as about 500,000/-. I
could boast of approx 35% gains before the markets fell and I am now
carrying approx 28% losses on my investments.
This is what I have
ABB

DLF

UNITED PLYWOOD

MUTUAL FUNDS

BIRLA INFRA FUND
ICICI TAX PLAN GROWTH
IDFC ENTERPRISE EQUITY FUND
LOTUS INDIA AGILE FUND
RELIANCE VISION FUND
SBI BLUE CHIP GROWTH
SUNDARAM MIDCAP GROWTH

My queries are :-
Do I need to exit some stocks and re invest else where?? I think I
have too many stocks and am over exposed to the financial sector
I need to liquidate half my holdings to pay for some expenses in Jan
2009 ….I can hold on to the remaining 50 % for Long term. How do I
proceed.
I have some cash which is lying unutilized and needs to be invested
till Jan 2009. Where can I park it . Are FMPs a good choice? Which are
the FMPS that I should look at??
My MFs which were up almost 60% in Jan are just about breaking even…
Is there a need to re invest these as well??
I can invest an additional 3-5 thousand every month? I want to go in
for 2 SIPs – Please suggest??
Can I get some advise please from the experts ??? Thanx in advance
