Market reels under selling pressure; Ranbaxy, HDFC down 6% http://investorline.co.in/
Recovery in equities from lows of the day was short-lived as traders intensified booking profits in benchmark stocks. Ranbaxy Laboratories and HDFC were the worst hit. At 2:20 pm, Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex was at 14,459.60, down 439.50 points or 2.95 per cent. It touched a high of 14,601.39 and low of 14,438.59. National Stock Exchange's Nifty was at 4352.15, down 96.15 points or 2.16 per cent. The index touched a high of 4,444.70 and low of 4,328.90. BSE Midcap Index was down 1.27 per cent at 5,754.92 and BSE Smallcap Index fell to 6923.36, down 0.73 per cent.
