China PMI numbers has declined and so are the non ferrous metals that were surging higher until yesterday on the back of expectations of rise in PMI. The purchasing managers' index (PMI) for China's manufacturing sector fell to 50.4 percent in January from 50.6 percent in December, the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) said Friday. January marked the fourth consecutive month that the PMI remained above 50 percent, according to a statement from the CFLP
A reading above 50 percent indicates expansion, while a reading below 50 percent indicates contraction. However, the indicator also dropped for the first time since August when it hit a nine-month low of 49.2 percent. LME Copper was stable last night and closed at $ 8215 per tonne. Marginal correction was seen in the prices on Friday at $ 8190 per tonne. On MCX, Copper contract for Feb expiry traded unchanged at Rs 440 per kg. LME Nickel three month forward prices closed at $ 18460 per tonne, up $ 220 per tonne. MCX Nickel ended the session at Rs 980.6 per kg, up 0.12%.
