Despite starting the week on a high note, equity benchmarks closed in
the red for the seventh consecutive session after the country's
political crisis deepened towards the close of the trading day. It was
reported that Mulayam Singh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party, which supports
the government from outside, may pull the plug on the UPA government
leading to an early polls. Talks of early polls, which analysts say
can be in October, cracked up an otherwise steady market in the second
half when European indices were trading strong on Cyprus bailout
news....
