You can tell the versions of firmware by looking at the logcat output of your app.
One thing to check: - With both the phone and IOIO running, plug the IOIO into your phone, verify that your app works. - Power off the phone *without* power cycling the IOIO. - Power on the phone. - Run your app. - What happens?
