Hi everyone,

I'm using the IOIO to connect to a GPS that has an external active antenna,
I then send the data I receive to a web service. I have been doing this
with the IOIOService for a while now. Recently I updated my phone to 4.4.4.
I now have to use AOA as most of you know. I implemented the AOA connection
and everything works fine until I disconnect the IOIO and reconnect it. The
service doesn't pick up that the IOIO has been reconnected anymore. I've
read on one of the other threads that this has happened to someone else as
well and that it is indeed a problem with the IOIOService. Now the solution
I'm thinking of using to fix this is to send the connection status of my
IOIO to my main activity and then when the IOIO is disconnected I stop and
restart the Service every 1 min or so (Manually stopping and starting the
service seems to fix it).

The thing is:
1) this doesn't feel like a very elegant solution and
2) I want to be able to close my main app and just keep the service running
which I won't be able to do with this workaround.

Anyone have a better solution to this?
