Why is it hard to find? It is a very common connector, especially in the R/C / hobbyist community. The polarity is de-facto standardized by R/C battery packs that use it. Many of SparkFun's products use the same connector for power, with consistent polarity. They sell all sorts of adapters too. For larger quantities / custom cables, Digikey and others carry this connector family.
