4 You don't want that resizing one window always implies resizing some
other window

5 You don't want that an application uses the whole screen but you
also don't know what to do with that little space left. Eg. I don't
want to read my browser in fullscreen mode because the lines get too
long and it is tedious to read them.  However, I don't want my browser
to be so small that I can fit a terminal next to it.  So I float the
browser over half of the terminal and bring to front the one I am
using at that moment. I heardly use both of them at the same time.
