New to Ion, and trying to make it my main window manager for everyday
use, both at work and at home. I have a little problem though. At
work, we use IRC to communicate internally all the time and it's an
extremely useful tool. Since I always open multiple workspaces, I like
to configure XChat to stick so I can see it in all workspaces. I read
in the FAQ that this is not possible in Ion, but there is a dock module
that can be used as a workaround. Could someone please tell me how to
do this?
Items in the dock won't take focus and you won't be able to type anything
into XChat. Some like idling more than others...
I'd say use detach.lua to put XChat in a layer 2 passive WFloatWS. Having
it in the scratchpad would mean you can't type on layer 1 without hiding the
scratchpad, so this is a little better.
