I keep a copy of klipper (the kde clipboard monitor) running in the
background because there is a "feature" of KDE whereby if you select
something from a KDE window, then close the app, your selection
disappears from the paste buffer, unless you have klipper to grabit.
This has nothing to do with KDE specifically, that's just how X clipboard
handling works. The selection isn't copied/transmitted from the source
before the destination requests it.
