These are not bad, but selecting the best variant is difficult.

My interpretation of the three blobs is that they are the head and hands of
a person, hugging the 'I' that represents the computer screen with Ion running
on it :).

Yep. Perhaps something else.. '+' would be cool, but it's an electron.
But this being an antimatter ion, and the blob a positron would somehow
also suit the philosophy of Ion.

 * I wonder what the TeX math 'i' would like like inside the blob.
   Yeah, I've got a fixation on it :).

 * Would it be better if the big blob were just an 'o' when 'Ion' is
   written there?

 * How about i, o and n written in the three blobs?
