Hello, fellow ionizers! 8-)
I have a new laptop, which is one of those wide-screen ones, and I have
been setting up Ion3 on it (20060107 on GenToo, modular Xorg).
Because the screen is wider on my new laptop than on my old one, I have
been changing my layout, and I thought, hey, this is wide enough so that
I don't need the dock to be floating any more!

So I changed the type to "embedded" and didn't get any dock at all.
(The "pos" value was "tl" which is supposed to be valid for both
embedded and floating docks, according to the comments in the cfg_dock
file.)
The "floating" dock works fine (apart from the known gkrellm problem, of
course).

At the moment I have compromised by making the dock "floating" and
adding an extra narrow frame on all my workareas that the dock is in
front of, so that I can have it showing all the time without covering
anything up (since the extra narrow frame doesn't have stuff in it).

I've looked at the manual and the ion pages but the only thing I could
find about embedded docks is that "docks can be either embedded or
floating". Is there anything else I need to do to get an embedded dock
working, or am I misunderstanding the nature of an embedded dock in the
first place?
