Right. But what does it do? I use Vim more than I use any window manager, so I am definitely used to hitting escape to close things and switch modes. However, it didn't occur to me that I was blocked on that message - I could still hit F1, F2, F3 or F12, but I couldn't do anything with the windows I created. How was I supposed to know that a small status screen on the bottom, which the window manager happily popped some things over (F3 & F12 windows), was the active item I was blocked on? I get it now, but it wasn't immediately apparent. Also, just to get this out of the way, I sound from this like I'm unhappy with Ion. I'm not, and in fact I went to a lot of trouble installing Linux on my laptop that doesn't like it too much just so that I could use Ion.
