Heys,
I know this is stupd and in the docs it simply states to put startup
programs in the xinit or xsessions file but I've done that for
gnome-sound-manager to get sound playing in ion and no luck. Am I
missing something here or is there also a way to call it in ion.lua or
bindings?
Thanks
Well, IMO this is not exactly Ion related, in fact i'm not even sure
that this is related to X at all. AFAIK Gnome uses some "sound daemon"
to playback audio. Normally it uses esd to do so. So what you need is
to install esd and launch it, preferably at startup.
esd (enlighted/enlightenment sound daemon) should be available as a
package for installation on your OS. Just figure out how it is started
at system startup.
And make sure your sound apps are using esd for output, otherwise
you'll end up with a "device busy".
