I would vote for relaxing the tight deadline of 28 days. I
more or less understand what's getting on your nerves in
principle, but demanding explicit notifications in this way
will probably only lead to something like: "the developer
demands that we notify you that 28 days after
{insert_some_date_here} this version is no longer considered
up-to-date etc. etc.
I think ion3 is now in the "asymptotic range": the core
functionality is more or less frozen and changes are mostly
in the periphery. and the guys adopting ion3 to the
different distros might not always have time to react within
28 days (hey, they even might get on holidays sometimes!).
so make that time limit 12 weeks, 3 months, or a hundred
days, whichever you like most...
