Stalker (Russian: Stalker) is a 1979 science fiction film directed by
Andrei Tarkovsky, and loosely based on the novel Roadside Picnic by Boris
and Arkady Strugatsky. It depicts the journey of three men as they travel
through a post-apocalyptic wilderness called The Zone to find a room that
has the potential to fulfil a person's innermost desires. The film stars
Alexander Kaidanovsky in the title role of the 'Stalker', who guides
the other two men: the Writer, played by Anatoli Solonitsyn, and the
Professor, played by Nikolai Grinko. Alisa Freindlich plays the Stalker's
wife.

If you never have seen Stalker the movie, try to find it somewhere. The
film is for once better than the book--which I have read in French though I
am not much a fan of science-fiction books, hence I am not a reference--in
fact it's a must have seen movie. (In comparison, I never have managed
to finish watching The Matrix awaken: Zzzz ... say while traveling on a
speed-boat--because no, I don't suffer of sleeping disorders really.)
If Ion is Joe, then Stalker is Hendrix and The Matrix is Madonna ... or
Jackson (pick the one you *prefer*).
