bug with sub-frames

When fiddling with region_tag, I accidentally realized I can tag and
attach whole frames. So I did this. But when I try and split the frame,
Ion crashes. Not too surprising -- I was impressed that it could even
attach the frame correctly. Yay for OO programming.
