Apologies if this is a general X11 question. I'm new to GUIs under Unix. I'm using the Red Hat Fedora test build with Gnome on my laptop. I turned on sub-pixel rendering for LCDs and everything looks great in Mozilla. However, when I start an X session using Ion instead of Gnome, Mozilla's fonts look terrible. They're antialiased but there appears to be artifacts in some letters leading me to believe that the subpixel rendering isn't turned on. But I can verify that it is turned on system-wide in /etc/fonts/fonts.conf.
Any suggestions on how to improve the looks of my fonts in Ion? -- Matt Perry | matt at primefactor dot com
