What is your experience with setting keybindings, what did you find ergonomic and useful? (of course, except for the default bindings)
I use the windows modifier key exclusively so my window management functions never interfere with any application's hotkeys (baring Mozilla focus problems, of course).
Most functions are simply Mod+key, e.g. Mod+C is close, Mod+Space toggles the dock.
"Alternative" functions are Mod+Shift+key, e.g. Mod+Q is Quit, but Mod+Shift+Q is Restart. Mod+X is run, but Mod+Shift+X is execute Lua code.
I use Mod+VIM keys for switching frames/tabs/workspaces, and Mod+Shift+VIM keys for moving the active window to a new frame/tab/workspace. Mod+1,2,3... switches tabs in the current frame, Mod+Shift+1,2,3... switches workspaces.
Submaps are for logical groups, e.g. Mod+M is maximise then followed by H for horizontal or V for vertical. Mod+F is my "fast launch", followed by E for email, W for web browser, I for image viewer, etc. etc. Note that xterm is on Mod+T because I use it a lot.
I can post my config files if people are interested. I'm at work right now and so will be able to send them tomorrow.
Tom
