This will always be a religous war. No group is trying to force the other to change (I hope!).


Personally, I like antialiased fonts, particularly on my laptop's TFT screen where the ClearType technology (or whatever non-MS OSs call it) effectively triples the resolution of my screen giving wonderfully clear fonts. But all I want is the facility to use them if I choose to.

AA fonts is a big issue for me. The other drawing engine features are simply window dressing (excuse the pun, for non-native English speakers "window dressing" means things what you put near the windows of your house and also means something that changes how something else looks without adding anything else). In fact, I haven't even changed my colour scheme from the excellent ion default.
