Ion has a dock module that supports the window maker dockapp protocol.
Just uncomment the line that says
load_module('dock')
in your ion.lua (a copy of it in ~/.ion2) or run that command in the
Mod1+F3 query. A patch that supports the kde systray protocol has also
been posted on this list, but I think it was a bit incomplete still.
