This is why I want a Git/Gerrit admin role. Whoever created a tag called "RC1" did not know enough about Git. This person should not have had the privileges that allowed the creation of said tag (it's not even an annotated tag, which is required). This action created harm, because everyone who has fetched from Git in the past day or so now has the tag. Each contributor must manually delete the tag. Instead, let's have someone who *knows* Git and Gerrit and would catch silly mistakes like this. This person, like Erich did above, would not take action unilaterally, but would implement the requests of the people or group of people who the governance says would be making those decisions.
