I am not able to reproduce
I have edison but I can't flash it because I miss edison breakout board.
Can you reproduce on other x86 like minnowboard ?
minor adaptation might be required.
which version of iotivity are you running ? latest from meta-oic ?
I encourage you to file a bug and give as much detail you can give,
a gdb backtrace could help too.
