Hi,

This is a well known issue. Some time ago I suggested switching to an asynchronous socket connection, but connectivity stack holders said that is a bad idea.... and made another fix. But it didn't help.

This is a blocking issue for now, and I will be happy if somebody will solve it..

I suggest to refactore that function to using poll/select to drive timeout with iotivity, not byt system.
