George, OTGC stands for Onboarding Tool and Generic Client. The name was obviously chosen by engineers.
It is an application designed and created within OCF. It is an OCF client that will onboard OCF devices and read the introspection file (IDD) to automatically generate a basic user interface. It has implementations in Android, iOS, Linux and Windows. It is open source based on IoTivity and will be added to the IoTivity project. The idea is that developers can build OCF server devices and immediately use them with OTGC with no client programming whatsoever. If developers also want to build a client, they can start with the OTGC source code on whatever platform makes sense. Executables will also be available (except maybe with iOS). This gets developers started with an application that already passes CTT and can just be customized for whatever the developer wants to do. You can learn a bit by clicking on the “Getting Started” link on the IoTivity web site. Source code is also now available on the OCF GitHub. We haven’t really publicized this yet because we don’t have everything set up the way we want it. In my opinion, it is VERY, VERY cool and will really help speed up OCF development.
