Thought you would find this pricelist regarding DSL offerings in Athens, Greece, amusing:
50 euro "activation fee" 50 euro "installation fee" 100 euro for equipment (modem and filters)
These are one-off charges. Now on to the monthly fees:
384kbps: 32 euro for the line + 58 euro for the ISP (total 90) 512kbps: 60 euro for the line + 88 euro for the ISP (total 148) 1024kbps: 112 euro for the line + 171 euro for the ISP (total 283)
Which means that in a "European" country of minimum wage ~500 euro, a netizen needs 200 euro set-up fees plus 283 euro MONTHLY to have a moderately fast Internet connection.
Oh, and naturally it's not offered in my part of town. :-P
You've got to love telecom monopolies!
