January 5: CSTB is pleased to announce its new director,Dr. Charles N. Brownstein. He comes to us from the Corporation for National Research Initiatives (CNRI), where since 1994 he directed the Cross Industry Working Team, and did independent research.
Prior to that he had a distinguished career at the National Science Foundation from 1975 to 1994, including six years as Deputy Assistant Director and Acting NSF Assistant Director managing the Foundation's Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) Directorate.
Before joining NSF, Dr. Brownstein was a Professor of Political Science at
Lehigh University where he taught and carried out research on information
technology applications and telecommunications policy.
