Hi Dave - In the recent documentary film "Wal-Mart: The High Cost Of Low Price" there is a segment near the end on crime in Wal-Mart parking lots. (My synopsis - their many security guards are intended mainly to protect inventory, not customers.) One case was shown where a young woman was abducted in a Wal-Mart parking lot, and then killed. Some people pointed out that the store where this happened had a number of surveillance cameras mounted on the roof overlooking the parking lot. The cameras were working, and the film includes some chilling still images of the abductor approaching his victim. As it turned out, no one had been monitoring the cameras. The cameras had actually been installed at that Wal-Mart location to help fight potential union organizing activity in the parking lots!
