Subject: Re: Kindly cross check the below IPERF Query
Hi Team,
Need your earnest suggestion/advice.
Just for example: we have site having 2 routers at the site: both 10 mbps
each.
I am planning to do test using Iperf which I did previosly by using
iperf.exe commads but only TCP by shutting down the Primary link and checking
the load into secondary link, this time want to carry out same but using
UDP to know about Jitter as well as drops.
For this we have a server located at HUB site which is treating here as HUB
and remote client-machine at clients place will serve as client IPERF.
Query:
1. Like when I was doing using TCP, the maximum throughput it was giving 5
mbps only, is that any limitation to it ?
2. what will be the command to generate a lot of traffic to check the load
on the secondary.
=============
Process what I am planning to follow :for UDP:(I downloaded from Internet now:
jperf-2.0.2)
1. I clicked on IPERF.BAT file and the file opens
2. On the server end::
I am doing bin/iperf.exe -s -u -P 1000 -i 1 -p 5001 -w 256.0K -l 1500.0B -C
-f M
Is P = 1000 is good ? as it will open up some 1000 connections, kindly suggest ?
3. On the client end, I am doing:
bin/iperf.exe -c 159.20.128.90 -u -P 1 -i 1 -p 5001 -w 256.0K -l 1500.0B -C
-f M -b 10.0M -t 10 -T 1
Kindly cross regarding the parameters, as this will help me in efficient
testing. Kindly assist Jon, will wait for your valuable reply.
Thanks and Regards
Parveez
